The Welder is responsible for the welding of materials, parts and/or equipment per project schematics and drawings. Welders use detailed specifications to complete their role in a project’s construction and carefully inspect their work for imperfections and defects to ensure the structural integrity of their projects.

Role specific responsibilities

· Weld materials

· Grind/clean welds

· Inspect quality of products

· Read blueprints for weld schedule

· Responsible for supporting all quality measures and procedures

· All other duties as assigned, as appropriate

Work Experience Required:

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Two years’ experience in welding or a manufacturing environment or equivalent

Skills & Knowledge Required:

· Reads and understands blueprints

· Must be able to pass an FCAW weld test in 3G position

· GMAW, FCAW, GTAW experience preferred

· Proficient in use of hand tools, such as hand torch, squares, level, tape measure, etc.

· Has mathematical aptitude, including decimals and fractions
