Warehouse Clerk

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Responsible for carrying out all common and scheduled activities of the weekly planning.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The below is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Role specific responsibilities

• Report directly to the Warehouse Leads.
• Carry out all tasks physically and accurately.
• Keep the warehouse area safe, clean, tidy and orderly.
• Check and inspect stock items for wear or damage, and reports any discrepancies to the warehouse leads.
• Adhere to and apply the 5s, SOP, and Lean objectives.
• Support ethical and professional compliance of all company policies and procedures.
• May be asked to use the company van to transport parts, materials and finished goods to and from third parties.

                        Tasks include:

• Receive, check and move materials to the requested location
• Mark all materials with identifying information (stickers/labels)
• Independently print stickers and labels for marking purposes
• Using (electric) tools to get materials in/out of crates
• Pick and pack outgoing materials, considering weights and measures
• Receive and put back on shelves any return shipment of rental projects
• Load, unload and move materials using forklift, reach truck and/or overhead crane
• Sort and place goods on racks, shelves or in boxes according to a predetermined order, such as material number and/or size, type, colour, etc.
• Perform “cycle counts”.
• All other common and relevant warehouse related tasks.

• You will carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and comply with all Health, Safety & Environmental rules, policy, procedures, regulations and codes of practice.
• You must also co-operate with management and co-workers to help everyone meet their legal obligations.
• Ensure that you follow any instructions or health, safety & environmental training provided by the company and report any hazards, injuries or ill health that present a serious and imminent risk and inform your line manager about any shortcomings you identify within your health and safety arrangements. 

REQUIREMENTS

Job Specific Education Required:

• (Equivalent of) secondary vocational education (MBO) or higher.

Work Experience Required:

• 2-3 years Warehouse experience with forklift certification.

Skills & Knowledge Required:

• Clerical skills in order processing and data retrieval using our software system SAP.
• Teamwork, initiative, and self-motivation skills.
• Able to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, and move about the facility.
• Capable of lifting 0 – 25 kg regularly using personal protective equipment as required by OSHA / Company policy.
• Good work ethics, understand and promote the need for efficiency.
• Understand and promote the need for continual improvement.
• Effective verbal and/or written communication skills in Dutch, and preferably in English too.
• Punctual, reliable, and flexible with a good sense of humour at all times.
• Committed to adhering to all Company policies and procedures as outlined in the General Policy and Procedures manual/Handbook.
