The Yard and Warehouse Operative reporting to Coating Equipment Manager will play a key part in the smooth, efficient, and well-organised running of the yard and warehouse facilities, ensuring all areas are consistently maintained to a world class standard of cleanliness and presentation.This role is responsible for creating and sustaining a safe, tidy, and well-structured working environment while actively supporting workshop and operational teams with the movement, handling, and disposal of waste and materials.The Yard and Warehouse Operative is essential in upholding world class standards of housekeeping, health and safety compliance, and operational efficiency. The position contributes directly to the effective organisation of the yard, helping to ensure workflows run smoothly and that the wider business always receives reliable and efficient operational support. 

 

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure that all warehouse areas maintain a world class housekeeping standard.
  • Co-ordinate weekly /monthly waste collections
  • All correct waste streams are adhered to ensuring internal and external collections are recycled correctly.
  • Keep the yard clean, tidy, and free from hazards
  • Maintain all that all evacuation, access and laydown areas are always clear.
  • Liaise with Warehouse Manager, PQT Manager & Workshop Managers to ensure that all yard, car park, wash down and surrounding areas are kept clean and tidy and that all equipment is accessible.
  • Report any infrastructure maintenance issues to the Facility Manger

 

Job specific education required: 

  •  FLT License would be preferred

 

Work Experience Required:

  • Previous experience working in a warehouse, yard, logistics, industrial, or similar operational environment is desirable. 
  • Familiarity with maintaining clean, safe, and well-organised work areas. 
  • Experience following health and safety procedures. 
  • Basic experience supporting operational or workshop teams with materials, waste handling, or general site duties. 
  • Experience using equipment such as forklifts.
  • Ability to work as part of a team while also being responsible for individual tasks and responsibilities. 
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of housekeeping and safety.
