Company: CRC Evans

  Job Title ERP Systems Anaylst
Department Information Technology
Application Closing  10/04/2026

ERP Business Systems Analyst

Reports to: Head of Business IT and PMO

Location: Edinburgh / Burnley

About the Role

CRC Evans is in the middle of an enterprise ERP transformation, replacing legacy systems with IFS Cloud across EMEA, the Americas and Brazil. The programme runs through 2027 and spans Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Projects and HR.

You will work with the internal programme team and our implementation partner to build strong IFS Cloud knowledge and support adoption, documentation, data readiness and BAU preparation as regions go live. Over time, you will become a trusted point of reference for how the system is used and supported.

You will sit within the Business IT and PMO team, reporting to the Head of Business IT and PMO. This is a role you can grow in, suited to someone with business analysis or ERP experience who is ready to take on a core position in a major programme.

What You Will Do

During the Project (now – 2027)

You will work with the implementation team across the project phases, from solution design through testing, data migration and go-live. Your focus is to build strong system knowledge and maintain quality at each stage.

  • Participate in data migration activities, including maintaining the Master Data Tracker, preparing and validating CSV loads to agreed standards and supporting reconciliation and controlled sign-off
  • Build and maintain test scripts and support UAT execution with business owners and functional leads
  • Help capture system knowledge and contribute to runbooks and operational documentation during implementation, ready for hypercare and BAU handover
  • Develop and maintain end-user training materials, guides, FAQs and super-user packs in collaboration with the core team and functional consultants
  • Document agreed outcomes, actions and configuration decisions from workshops and fit-gap sessions
  • Work with functional consultants, project leads and business stakeholders across finance, HR and supply chain to ensure decisions are reflected accurately in configuration, data, testing and documentation
  • Support change control by documenting CRIM items and impacts and ensuring changes follow the agreed process.

In BAU (post go-live)

As the programme delivers and the project goes live, you will move into BAU and take ownership of day-to-day functional support and controlled change for IFS Cloud. You will help keep the platform stable, well-documented and easy to use.

  • Own Level 2 functional support for IFS Cloud, resolving issues that cannot be handled by first-line support
  • Triage and manage escalations to Level 3 support, track resolution and communicate updates back to the business
  • Maintain configuration documentation and keep it current as the system evolves
  • Support the release and change process through structured impact notes, regression testing support and documentation updates
  • Work with process owners to define, document and assess change requests, including impact, testing needs and release readiness
  • Support onboarding of new users and contribute to ongoing training materials and guides
  • Provide functional input into performance reporting and support dashboards

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Experience in a business analyst, systems analyst, or ERP functional role
  • Able to translate between business process needs and system configuration, and document changes and impacts in a structured way
  • Exposure to at least one major ERP system (IFS, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, particularly around data, testing and process documentation
  • Comfortable working with structured data, including data preparation, validation and reconciliation
  • Strong documentation skills, able to produce clear user guides, training materials and runbooks
  • Clear written and verbal communication, comfortable working with both technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Organised and self-directed, able to manage your workload and priorities in a programme environment

Desirable

  • Hands-on experience with IFS Cloud or IFS Applications
  • Experience supporting or participating in an ERP implementation project
  • Familiarity with data migration concepts and tools
  • Exposure to manufacturing, engineering, or project-based business environments
  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management awareness

The Opportunity

This is a role you can grow in. You will join during an enterprise ERP transformation and build deep IFS Cloud knowledge through delivery, testing, data readiness and BAU preparation. Over time, the role can develop into an IFS Service Owner position with responsibility for platform stability, documentation quality, controlled change and partner escalation.

If you want to go deep on a system, work across a global business and build a long-term platform role, this is a strong fit.

We look forward to hearing from you
