This role is based in Watton, Norfok - Factory Based.
The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for working in accordance with client coating requirements ensuring a world class service whilst raising the company’s presence within the industry in a safe and responsible manner. Responsible for the supervision of paint spray operatives, labourer’s and blasters, covering all technical and administrative aspects.
Major Responsibilities
Role Specific Responsibilities:
- Promotion of Safety awareness and establish safe work practices
- Instruct employees on these safe work practices and correct any unsafe working conditions
- Ensure all equipment including PPE is maintained in good working order and removal of defective equipment
- Instigate and document all Toolbox Meetings
- Participate in Job Hazard Assessments
- Responsible for the overall health and safety of co-workers
- Be diligent in managing personal behavior in compliance with HSQE requirements
- To work under the instructions of Management and the Client
- Work at all times within the parameters of the approved project planning and specification.
- Maintain effective communications with relevant parties at all times
- Be aware of all hazards associated with the coating equipment
- Ordering of paint/equipment for workshop
- Good working knowledge of blast and spray equipment including hand and power tools
- Ensuring materials are processed and mixed to the right specification
- Working to client specifications in order that items can be blast cleaned and coated.
- Following strict safety regulations covering the use of potentially hazardous materials
- Carry out visual inspections of completed painted items
- Liaise with administrator regarding queries on paperwork of jobs processed
- Managing workshop assistant
- Any other reasonable duties required by your line manager
- Overhead crane trained

Job Specific Education Required:
- 5 years’ experience and ICAT’s or Train the Painter qualifications would be preferable.
Work Experience Required:
Essential:
- Supervisory experience
- Blasting and paint application experience
- Factory based experience with broad product knowledge ie paints, blast media etc
- Experience of different application methods ie airless, conventional
Desirable:
- Ability to thermally metal spray (ISO:14918)
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Able to work independently and on own initiative
- Comfortable in a customer facing situation and able to represent the company in all environments
- Good communication skills, able to work with clients and colleagues at all levels and to generate clear and accurate reports detailing actions taken and recommended future actions
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own time efficiently
