This is a permanent Apprentice Planning Technician position with opportunities for progression to Planning Coordinator. This position is integral to our project teams, ensuring effective communication and coordination of schedule information across the EMEAA Region. The role's main purpose is to support the efficient planning of projects and operations, ensuring that timely, accurate data is prepared and reported to support decision-making processes in managing multiple global. 

 

Major Responsibilities: 

Project Controls Technician Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

This apprenticeship combines online tutor-led sessions with blended learning (online + face-to-face support at the employer’s premises).

It concludes with an End-Point Assessment (EPA), where learners demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and behaviours.

The end-point-assessment consists of three assessment methods:

  1. Knowledge test
  2. Practical test
  3. Structured interview

Qualifications to be awarded

  • Level 3 Project Controls Technician Apprenticeship
  • Level 3 Diploma in Project Control Practice
  • Functional Skills English and maths (if required)

On the Job Responsibilities 

  • Comply with and maintain planning procedures, guidelines, and processes.
  • Create preliminary schedules for projects at the proposal phase
  • Coordinate and align departmental planning tools with project schedules.
  • Maintain and manage the central project database.
  • Create and implement different levels of project control documents
  • Update and manage reporting models using advanced Excel.
  • Ensure resource allocation (labour, assets, equipment) aligns with project timelines.
  • Support Shipping and Mobilisation in terms of providing a forecast schedule of mobilization and ROS (Required on Site)
  • Support the PQT / WPQT management with required planning and scheduling tasks
  • Coordinate schedule interfaces across subcontractors, suppliers, logistics, site teams, workshop, supply chain, management, and clients.
  • Update and manage reporting models using advanced Excel.
  • Rotation plan between different departments to comply with the apprenticeship requirement

Job Specific Education Required: 

  • Strong general education with GCSE in Maths & English (grades A-C)

 

Work Experience Required:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to learn and a passion for project planning and reporting.

 

Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Excellent Communication, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
