Shipping Administrator based in Burnley, Lancashire

 

Main function is to perform the administration duties and assist the Shipping Co-Ordinator on all projects to ensure the Shipping Team complete smooth execution of Freight via various methods worldwide.

 

Role specific responsibilities

  • Preparing Commercial Invoices & Packing Lists for shipments (Sea Freight, Air Freight, Road Freight, Courier)
  • Place bookings with Freight Forwarders for Air, Sea & Road Shipments
  • Manage the Import Procedure for all incoming orders into the UK
  • Raise Purchase Orders for all Freight / Logistics services
  • Liaising with relevant departments (Supply Chain, Workshop, Mobilisation, Projects)
  • General administration to include filing / photocopying & scanning / archiving / creating new folders electronically
  • Liaising with internal customers on status updates of shipments, internal task management system

Job Specific Education Required:

  • Good general education including GCSE in Math’s & English grade A-C.

Work Experience Required:

  • Administration experience is essential
  • Knowledge of Shipping / Logistics - desirable
  • Understanding of UK import procedures - desirable

Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Excellent communication & organizational skills
  • Excel – Essential
  • SAP – Desirable
