Design of custom electrical systems for use on Field Joint Coating (FJC) equipment, modification of existing designs based on project specific demands and constraints.

Support the company’s Engineering department with new equipment designs and support field project locations with technical advice during breakdowns and production issues.

Role specific responsibilities

  • Specification and design of electrical systems for new and existing equipment
  • Producing working wiring diagrams for both new and existing machinery
  • Familiar with BS EN60204-1, BS7671 & ISO 9001
  • Design, specification, and procurement of materials/parts.
  • Produce documentation for the correct use of machinery and processes.
  • Fault finding of electrical control systems.
  • Provide support to CRC-E workshop and field staff with electrical issues.
  • Global travel to support projects in the field if required.

Job Specific Education Required:

  • Engineering based Degree (2:1 or above)
    Or

HNC/HND with NVQ level 3 within relevant a field of engineering.

 

Work Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant role or time served apprenticeship.
  • Experience in an electrical design role, including support of equipment commissioning.

PLC fault finding experience, preferably with Siemens S7 equipment.

Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Solid, practical engineering knowledge base gained from experience within industry.
  • Proficient with electrical CAD software, preferably Eplan.
  • Good communication skills, able liaise with clients and suppliers clearly in regards to requirements and builds.
  • Be able to create and modify electrical drawings for new and existing equipment.
  • Be able to understand and interpret standards relevant to the equipment and ensure any work undertaken is compliant.
  • Understand automated machinery and the interaction of mechanical, electrical and control systems within.
  • Ability to understand a complete production environment, involving multiple complex processes, and give effective solutions based upon their assessment.
  • Ability to read and understand pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Good timekeeping skills, ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own and others time efficiently.
