Role specific responsibilities:

 

  • The Buyer is responsible for the strategic sourcing and purchasing of technical goods and services.
  • They work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
  • This role requires a blend of technical understanding, negotiation skills, and supply chain management knowledge.
  • Supplier Selection and Evaluation:
    • Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers based on factors such as quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
    • Conducting supplier audits and assessments.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management:
    • Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
    • Drafting and managing procurement contracts.
  • Technical Specification Review:
    • Analyzing technical specifications for materials and components to ensure they meet business requirements.
  • Procurement Planning and Scheduling:
    • Developing and maintaining procurement schedules.
    • Coordinating with project teams to determine procurement needs and timelines.
    • Coordinating with sales team to assess demand requirements to achieve annual revenue budget.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
    • Monitoring supplier performance and resolving any issues.
  • Cost Optimization:
    • Identifying opportunities to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality
    • Analyzing market trends and pricing dynamics.
    • Working with Accounts Payable to review financial documentation such as invoices if required.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
    • Assessing and mitigating procurement risks.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintaining accurate records of procurement activities.
    • Preparing and presenting procurement reports.
  • Procurement system management:
    • Implementing and managing procurement software systems.
  • Indirect Procurement:
    • Ad hoc support for Zeewolde Facility in terms of generic indirect procurement

Systems

 

  • SAP Experience
  • Support Digital Transformation across the procurement Function
  • Ensure seamless integration of systems to support efficient warehouse operations and data management.

 

Work Experience Required:

 

  • 3-5 Years Experience as a Buyer with understanding in the following industries:
    • Manufacturing
    • Construction
    • Aerospace
    • Energy/Oil and gas
    • Defense.

 

 

Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • SAP – Must be proficient
  • Self-starter
  • Effective planner
  • Problem solver
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency in office applications
  • Engineering knowledge ideally
  • Able to present to senior leaders within CRC Evans

The requirement to travel % of time:  some occasional business travel
