The Assembler works in a fast-paced industrial environment, with the responsibility of maintaining the rental fleet and assembling new equipment for sale. Due to the short lead time and urgent nature of requirements in this department, the Assembler must be self-motivated and able to follow instructions with excellent precision. He/she must be safety conscious and is often required to work overtime and possibly weekends. 

 

Role specific responsibilities 

  • Assemble/ recondition heavy machinery, industrial equipment and subcomponents, such as mechanisms, expansion sections, powered wheel assemblies, pneumatic and hydraulic motors, electrical components, etc.  

  • Read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings and schematics.  

  • Responsible for supporting all quality measures and procedures.  

  • The ability to proactively think and resolve assembly problems or report to lead for assistance.  

  • Ability to work safely and independently, with minimal supervision.  

  • Maintain a strong commitment to excellence and quality.  

  • Work as a member of a team.  

  • All other duties assigned, as appropriate.

Physical Requirements:  

  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds.  

  • Physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities assigned.  

  • Physically capable of standing and/or walking continuously for long periods of time if necessary.  

  • Physically capable of climbing, balance, bend/stoop, and kneel continuously 

 

Work Experience Required: 

  • 1 – 2 years’ experience with industrial machinery schematics and assembly drawings or equivalent 

  • Basic Welding knowledge 

 

Skills & Knowledge Required: 

  • Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.  

  • Thorough knowledge and use of shop hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools.  

  • Operation of overhead cranes and forklifts.  

  • Demonstrate mechanical ability in the assembly and recondition of industrial equipment.
